ODF is now a South African standard
On Friday STANSA approved ODF as a South African standard, this a week after Brazil made ODF a national standard as well. Tectonic have covered the story on STANSA SANS 26300, which is what the South African standard is called.

Speech coverage
The minister’s speech continues to get coverage in the the press and in various blogs. The latest is an article by Edwin Naidu titled “Microsoft’s mission to make money in a mouse click”, I have no idea of how to react to it but Prof. Derek Keats has responded to it in his blog.

ISO/IEC DIS 29500 Approved
It’s official, http://www.iso.org/iso/pressrelease.htm?refid=Ref1123 DIS 29500 has been approved. South Africa was amongst the 10 countries that voted to disapprove, the majority (61 countries) voted to  approve and  16  abstained.  I wonder what this says about us
