last weeks activities
I had a promising meeting with Microsoft employees on Tuesday, we mainly discussed interoperability and the Microsoft interoperability council. I have agreed to participate on the council and look forward to making some input to that council. I made the point that we would like to see interoperability rather than integration with selected partners. I was surprised by the number of times they used the word “open”.
On Wednesday I had meeting with a large telecommunications company and was happy with the support they were willing to lend to our FOSS policy and projects.
On thursday we had a meeting with the person responsible for the feasibility study for the computers in schools project and we were requested to give information about the FOSS policy and relate the possible impact that the FOSS policy would have on the project.
